POWERS (nine-tailed form)
  • FOX FIRE Can produce fire by rubbing her tails together, and make several hundred lines of glowing (ethereal) orbs in the darkness.
  • BAD OMEN Seeing Yeko in her true form can be a sign of bad fortune. Worsens if seen on multiple occasions.
  • LUCK Has extraordinary luck. If something is bound to go wrong, it won't when she's around. (Game nerf: sometimes this backfires!)
  • ILLUSIONS Capable of creating and making illusions indistinguishable from reality.
  • SHAPESHIFTING Changes her appearance at will, cannot genderswap. (Game nerf: gone entirely except for shifting to and from her human form, maybe she earns multi-shifting back at some point.)
  • EXTREME INTELLIGENCE Being nine-tailed, she has access to otherworldly knowledge.
  • TIME & SPACE MANIPULATION Able to manipulate the space-time continuum.
  • PERSONAL SIZE MANIPULATION Able to make herself very small (pocket monster!) and as large as she wants (not-so-pocket monster).(Game nerf: Yeko would not be able to get bigger than the size of whatever room she's in, so think of it like a literal ceiling on her abilities. She can fill up a ballroom, but wouldn't be able to get that size in her bedroom.)

  • VULPES PHYSIOLOGY Enhanced endurance/speed/5 senses, night vision.
  • SUPERNATURAL BITE Has an unnaturally strong bite.

  • PSYCHIC POWERS Ties in to magic manipulation, possesses an extraordinary amount of psychic power.

WEAKNESSES (both forms)
  • DESPISES DOGS *counted as a weakness because she's attacked them unprovoked. Dogs can also sense her, which makes her skittish.
  • ALCOHOL Causes carelessness. Fox features can appear to expose her in her human form (ears showing, a tail appearing)
  • MOUNTAIN ASH Barriers made with mountain ash can't be crossed by nova-caudas.
  • IRON Can paralyze or wound her.
  • BLESSED ITEMS Blessed items, especially weapons, can be used against her. Places such as churches or holy ground also fall into this category. Has an aversion to priests.
  • PROMISES She must keep any promise she makes.
  • EMOTIONAL Prone to get caught up in her emotions and cause disasters, even to herself.

ABILITIES (human form)
  • EXTREME INTELLIGENCE Still has knowledge about the world/universe, but can't access spiritual planes as easily.
  • DISGUISE MASTER Nerfed down to only shifting her clothing or hair in her human form.
  • EXCELLENT FISHER 9 times out of 10 can catch fish.
  • LUCK A 50/50 chance whether things will go well with her around, as opposed to 99.9%
  • TRICKSTER She's very cunning and able to talk her way in or out of a situation. Her motives can vary from mischievous to malevolent.
  • EYE GLOW Eyes glow red when emotions run higher, with use of magic, and in the dark.
  • MAGIC MANIPULATION Capable of manipulating magic, but not creating. Has the same abilities as a human mage.

• BELUOSUS •
There exists a world where magic and machinery are technologies used for the convenience of its societies. The world atlas is divided by monarchies, and countries are split between noble families - most of them at the risk of collapsing into their increasing obsoleteness - and impoverished subjects looking for a way to take their power.

QUEDA is a country governed by one of the oldest surviving monarchies in the world, situated in the Iberian Peninsula between Portugal and Spain's borders, fully surrounded by land and populated with mountainous regions. Immigration is low but emigration is on the rise, and a once thriving economy is now suffering the loss of a society that just won't get with the times. Various districts separate this country, each of them dominated by a noble family.

In this world, fictional beasts are actual species, denominations taken from mythology to determine their common names. More than just reality in this world, they are a major target of interest and factor in the economy, in a variety and richness of breeds that go from the prized creatures the nobles keep to the feared monsters nomads are warned about. These creatures are called BELUA (plural BELUAE). While many of them run still run free, beluae are generally seen as a property or companion, assigned from a very early age to some, a late gift or blessing to the rest.

Among other things, magic can be used to make beluae have an entirely human appearance to facilitate their interaction with their owners (referred to as DONO/DONA when it's a noble and PAR when it's a nomad). This ritual is called the AEQUAL.
• HISTORY •
  • A tricky nove-caudas passed down through generations without being sealed because she keeps outsmarting the donos for fun.

  • Does not understand the concept of insecurity.

  • Often wears some form of twin buns in her hair to mimic fox ears.

  • Her real laugh is addictive to hear, loud and without embarrassment.


  • A REAL PERSONALITY SECTION: (wip sorry)

    HAUGHTY: She has lived her entire life as a creature bound to serve, yet has always been acutely aware of her rarity. Bred with traits like confidence and strength, she tends to view herself above others, carrying an innate pride that sets her apart. Vowed to protect humans and raised with a silver spoon, Yeko knows the worth of being a Nove-Caudas—and she wields it to her advantage. It hardly lessens her value that she is said to descend from Tamamo-no-Mae; though the bloodline remains unproven, the mere possibility of carrying a drop of Tamamo’s power makes her all the more coveted. At times, her bite is attributed to this ancestry, for she can be especially malicious toward men or those in power, taking pleasure in their downfall.

    SARCASTIC: Yeko tends to lean on sarcasm as her primary source of humor, but as she forms bonds with others the sarcasm has a slow shift from rude to affectionate.

    PLAYFUL: Beneath her aloof and sometimes cruel exterior, when someone gains her trust, Yeko becomes someone else. She's goofy and enjoys high-caliber pranks, telling ghost stories, stealing items of value from the owner and hoarding them until she's forced to return them or using her powers of illusion to send people on a wild goose chase.

    CUNNING: With a special talent for talking herself in or out of any situation, she can be slippery, speak in rhymes or riddles, and use her sexuality to tip the scales in her favor.

    LOYAL: Yeko requires a lot of patience, but as soon as her trust has been earned, she'll overlook quite a lot so long as betrayal doesn't enter the picture. Whether she's on your side or her own is a coin toss, but once she's there, she's there forever.

    PROTECTIVE: Despite not being sealed, she has an extreme sense of loyalty to the Raposeira family and has attacked outsiders (and potential threats) on sight. Makes an excellent guard of the home.

    EMOTIONAL: Her emotions, especially negative ones, can consume her. She holds grudges, lashes out when she feels cornered, and has had one particular instance of killing a man for marrying someone else. (he didn't even know she existed...how little mermaid of her). Would die if it meant exacting revenge.

  • On all fours, defaults to 8ft (2.7m) tall, body being 14ft (4.2m) long, with tails ranging in size between 4-15ft. White to soft gold on her back and tail ends with a deeper gold. Some gold and black markings on her head and face. (both artworks by shikitori).
